A visually captivating addition to Sydney’s CBD, West hotel provides a crafted hospitality experience.

The project’s goal was to craft a building seamlessly integrated into the Western edge of Sydney CBD while exuding a distinct, exceptional quality.

The design balances scale and proportion, drawing inspiration from neighbouring structures while reinterpreting them to evoke uniqueness. Central to the concept was the role of building occupants in shaping its identity, leading to the creation of the “Chanel handbag” façade concept.

This striking feature serves as a visual signature for each room, addressing factors like occupancy, views, privacy, and environmental considerations.

The windows become frames for internal activities, injecting vitality into the building with changing lights, curtains, and varying degrees of privacy.

In harmony with this vision, we maintained a refined color and material palette, extending it from the exterior to the interior. An innovative botanical theme and color strategy were overlaid, enhancing the building’s character.

The outcome is a building seamlessly integrated into the CBD, defined by its use, and distinguished by its visually captivating character and expression.
